First match played at our home ground today for S&A under 7's blue, against neighbouring Crosby Stuart.
The pre-game build up at home was brilliant and both teams got to experience what a Wembley walkout feels like with the pitches and facilities being in top condition
From the offset, our boys were well organised and were working the ball quickly in formation, which was something they had worked hard on at training. The team’s quick passing and high tempo caught their opponents off guard and led to 2 first half goals from Joseph and Harvey.
The second half saw Crosby Stuart ratchet up the pressure and it was a closely fought affair compared to the first half.
The boys found it a challenge to break through their defence with a number of our shots a whisker away from crossing the line, left everyone gasping and oohing from the side line! It was a great team effort, although we also had some sterling individual performances, including our defence where Reggie was clearing ball after ball and pitching in with some long range shots that earned him 'Player of the match'.
The boys are progressing well and benefiting from more and more game time together, and enjoying themselves immensely.
